Rosemary's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yeah, I know trans-fats are really, really bad for you. When it comes to baked goods, I don't care. (If you want to avoid trans-fats, use all butter, but then they won't be Grandma's cookies.) 

1 cup shortening
½ cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs*
1 cap of vanilla**
2¼ cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
6 oz. chocolate chips***

  1. Heat oven to 375º F. Thoroughly mix shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. ****

  2. Onto ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded teaspoonsful 2 inches apart.

  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until light brown. Allow to cool.
